A new study was revealed, suggesting that the above headline was very much true - naturally igniting a beard grooming/hygiene debate. 18 men aged between 18-76 were tested and revealed to all show high microbial counts (bacteria) in their facial hair. Professor Andreas Gutzeit, from Hirslanden Clinic, Switzerland confirmed that these findings show "dogs can be considered as clean compared with bearded men.” With these findings spreading anti-beard headlines and prompting negative comments like wildfire yesterday, Murdock Head Barber Sam spoke with The Huffington Post to reassure bearded men and grooming naysayers alike about the best approaches you can take to ensure a beard thrives at its cleanest (spoiler alert: the answer isn't a quick rinse through every now and then with drippings of your hair shampoo).
