Customer Service & Finance Assistant

 

Murdock is London's finest gentlemen's grooming establishment, and this role requires interaction with our customers / clients. Based at our head office the role requires the following:

Murdock – a multi-channel retailer with physical shops, online and wholesales functions to the business; and is poised for rapid domestic and international expansion post receiving significant investment.

With the expansion of the finance and administration team, we are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate and bright individual with customer services and finance background. You need to be reliable, thorough and be a strong team player.

 

There will be two aspects to the role:

Customer Service

• Receipt and management customer bookings.

• You will be a key contact for customers and the face & voice of the company.

• Management of key customer facing email accounts, dealing with customer service enquiries across all channels.

• You will work closely and report into the retail operations and ecomm managers to deal with customer feedback and resolve issues when appropriate.

• You will monitor online customer feedback across the following social media channels, engage with customers where necessary.

• Manage customer service reporting to allow visibility on main issues faced by the business and you should be a champion for systematic solutions and continuous improvement.

 

Finance Assistant

You will also provide assistance to the finance team through responsibilities such as: 

• Performing responsibilities of an accounts payable clerk

• Managing cash takings from retail stores across London

• Manage postings to the accounting system and monthly account reconciliations.

 

 

Experience Required

The candidate that we are looking for should have:

• Experience in a customer service role.

• A minimum of 3 A-levels.

• Basic knowledge of accounting - ideally greater than one year’s experience in a finance role.

• Experience with an accounting system (ie Sage, Quickbooks) would be preferable.

• The ability to use relevant Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Google products.

 

 

Preferred Candidate

The role is a customer facing role and as such the preferred candidate should be: well presented, articulate, friendly and enthusiastic. You will be asked to perform various roles, so the candidate should be flexible and eager to learn new skills.

 

 

Wholesale & Marketing Assistant

 

This junior role involves marketing the Murdock London brand to prospective wholesale accounts, and also the creation of the collateral to assist this business development. You will be an ambassador for the brand, marketing the business where appropriate. You will report to the Managing Director and Supply Chain Manager. Applicants must have some experience in the wholesale market.

 

Key Duties Include:

Assist in the Management and development of the nationwide wholesale business in order to meet objectives and targets with focus on key account management, profitability and sales growth

Assist in the management of Wholesale accounts to achieve agreed sales targets

To open new wholesale accounts in line with the company objectives and maximize the potential of existing accounts

Help develop and influence Partner relationships in order to maximise sales opportunities to build Brand visibility

Help develop business relationships with key Partners in order to reach agreed sales and profitability targets

Creation of the collateral needed to market the wholesale channel

 

Knowledge & Skills

The ideal candidate should be capable of initiating and maintaining strong personal relationships

In addition, you must be able to coordinate with all the departments involved to ensure the completion of the associated marketing programs for wholesale

A high degree of organisation and self-motivation is required

Barbers

 

We are frequently on the lookout for new barbers. It is the responsibility of the barber to act as brand ambassador for Murdock London and provide the highest quality barbering and customer services to the clients. With an eye for detail and a passion for the brand, a successful barber will display an impeccable standard of haircuts, wet shaves and other barbering services whilst maintaining an overview of the profitable running of the Murdock London concession as a whole. All Barbers must have NVQ levels one and two in hairdressing to be considered. The NVQ in Barbering is an advantage, but not essential. We provide extensive in-house training on shaving, facial hair, facials and other men’s grooming services. We expect that all our barbers partake in our training programme and are constantly working with our training manager to progress and learn new skills.

 

Key Duties Include:

Customer journey - Greeting and seating clients.

Ensuring that client’s experiences are thorough and enjoyable.

Maintain the highest standards of personal grooming, appearance and etiquette.

Maintaining the barber-shop floor. (Keeping the floor clean and the barber stations equipped).

Preparing clients for their service (Gowning-up, washing hair).

Maintaining good stock levels in store and having a strong knowledge of all Murdock products.

Communicate regularly with head office team to ensure company strategy is well executed.

Adhere to company processes and procedures at all times whilst always seeking to explore new opportunities and develop existing clientele base.

Using the appointment system to take bookings, checking-in and out clients.

Keeping the stations stocked with clean and folded towels.

Maintain exceptional standard of housekeeping and hygiene in line with health and safety protocol.

 

Sales Assistants

We are looking for passionate and experienced Sales Assistants with an eye for detail and a strong sense of style. Acting as brand ambassador and first point of contact with our clientele, you must have a fantastic understanding of building and maintaining good relationships. Excellent communication skills are vital along with strong interpersonal skills. Exceptional customer service is a must and you will be proactive at all times offering a bespoke experience to all of our individual customers.

 

Key Duties:

The sales assistants' key focus will be to drive retail sales and maximise opportunities through good organisation and understanding of our products and services.

The successful candidate will come from a background of working toward and achieving sales targets, as well as bringing enthusiasm, style and finesse, to the team.

You will be responsible for setting a high standard of visual merchandising to raising standards of product presentation, housekeeping and hygiene.

Adherence to opening and closing procedures accurately logged and completed.

Effective management and awareness of stock levels is vital to ensure minimal shrinkage and correct usage.

They will happily share their product and brand knowledge to ensure that each customer is looked after, from start to finish.

 

Other Tasks:

Adhere to company processes and procedures at all times whilst always seeking to explore new opportunities and develop existing clientele base.

Using the appointment system to take bookings, checking-in and out clients, offering clients beverages and making sure they are comfortable in the surroundings.

Keeping the stations stocked with clean and folded towels.

Maintain exceptional standard of housekeeping and hygiene in line with health and safety protocol.
