BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund

BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund

The British Fashion Council & GQ Designer Menswear Fund was created in order to help emerging British brands grow and move forward financially. The Fund is the UK’s biggest menswear prize and was established in September 2013 following the success of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. It was a pleasure to host the models taking part in this year's award showcase in our Shoreditch barbershop at the start of the day. Our expert barbers getting to work (as pictured) shaping and sharpening the distinct looks for each representative collection. IMG_1257

"London is not only the home of menswear, but there are now more exciting menswear designers in Britain than ever before."

- Dylan Jones OBE, Editor of British GQ and Chair of London Collections Men.

BFC160_SJC_GQFUND_332 The grand prize sees the winning designer receive a £150,000 grant, with which they are free to provide necessary infrastructure and development to their business. They further receive a high level mentoring support programme over a twelve month period with esteemed industry experts. Following in the footsteps of Patrick Grant’s superb E Tautz label and Christopher Shannon before him, Craig Green was announced as the winner of the third BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund with his A/W16 collection. BFC GQ Designer Menswear Fund (Shaun James Cox, British Fashion Council) (25) Dylan Jones further commented on Craig's winning collection: "Craig demonstrated a unique ability to build commercially on the incredible awareness driven by his high-profile shows during London Collections Men. It was a unanimous decision, as he showed a seemingly innate ability to understand the demands of growing a small business."
